Imperial Guard- Raw Recruits and Xenos Heavies

Just got in some raw materials, enough to make an Imperial Guard army, easily 2500 pts:

6x Valkyries
70x Various Troops and Leaders
8x Heavy Weapons
2x Leman Russ (demolisher and battle tank)
1x Baneblade

You can set this up a la carte for regular prices (but 50% off cost of models).

Or you can just have us do it up how we want, 2500 pts worth, for $1500. Need $750 down. It can be done by December 15-20 if it’s set up soon.

If left to our d’ruthers we would very likely do an urban-type color scheme.

Oh! I also have two Eldar Grav Tank Type II heavies on the block; one Scorpion and one Cobra.

Cost of model: $160
Cost of assembly: $120
Painting L3: $240
Painting L4: $360
Painting L5: $480
Painting L6: $620

Stoke me a Clipper

I’ve started watching Red Dwarf on Youtube. That show is absolute genius. I love it. I can’t get enough. Smegging Hell, I get at least three good belly laughs per episode.

My main concern right now is that we’re a bit light for December. See last post for details.

I have the following armies on hand (unpainted/unassembled) if you want to dive in headfirst I can get them started the next day.

  • Lizardmen
  • Orcs and Goblins
  • Space Wolves
  • Orks (40K)
  • Skaven
  • Khador

Getting home tonight was an absolute delight. My house is warm and happy. I just love my wife and kids. Little Willow was in the center of the kitchen floor in her purple Bumbo (a soft sort of low chair) eating mashed potatoes. They were all over her face. She was squealing and smiling with delight. Later, as I was laying on the couch watching TV, my wife brought her in after a bath, with her pink sleepers on and I just got to snuggle with her and smell her delicious hair. She was smiling and chirping and making her monosyllabic baby-talk.

Currently booking:

  • Regular projects
  • Pandora Armies (for December)
  • Turbo Armies

Chaosey Ideas

I need help making a Chaos Space Marine list. What is competitive and fun besides Deathguard? What’s a good list?

Now booking projects for completion in December. It’s still not too late to get your project done in time for Christmas. We can still do a whole army.

Random Thoughts for the Day

1. I think part of a best friend’s job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you’re wrong.

3. I totally take back all those times I didn’t want to nap when I was younger.

4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

6. Was learning cursive really necessary?

7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I’m pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

9. I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t at least kind of tired.

10. Bad decisions make good stories.

11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren’t going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don’t want to have to restart my collection…again.

13. I’m always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks e if I want to save any changes – to my ten-page research paper that I
swear I did not make any changes to.

14. “Do not machine wash or tumble dry” means I will never wash this thing I have– ever.

15. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Damn it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and
goes to voicemail. What’d you do after I didn’t answer? Drop the phone and run away?

16. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

17. I keep some people’s phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

18. My 4-year old son asked me in the car the other day “Dad what would happen if you ran over a ninja?” How the hell do I respond to that?

19. I think the freezer deserves a light as well..

20. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet, on any given Friday or Saturday night, more kisses begin with Bud Light than with a Kay jewelry product.

PS- I didn’t make any of these up– a client sent in this list.

Pandora for Deep Winter 2009-2010 (November December January)

It’s time now to book your Pandora’s Army! I’m ready to get it set up as early as today.

Also check out the Turbo Army special.

The Pandora’s Army special is one of the most exciting things we’ve ever done. I’m ready to do a fourth run for December-January.

Here are the costs per 500 pts:

L 3/5 any army (we pick): $275
L 3/5 with three nixes (you pick three armies and it can’t be one of those): $300
L 3/5 with reverse nixes (you pick three armies and it must be one of those): $325

L 4/6 any army (we pick): $325
L 4/6 with three nixes: $350
L 4/6 with reverse nixes: $375

L 2/4 any army (we pick): 225
L 2/4 with three nixes: $250
L 2/4 with reverse nixes: $300
.
Bonus: if your army is 2000 points or more, you can knock $100 off.

This means you can get your army started with a 500 point force for only $250-300 (a modest half-down deposit pulls the trigger).
.
The catch? We pick everything. You only choose 40K or Fantasy. We will produce at least a reasonably competitive list. And nothing weird for paint scheme.
.
Normal Painting Level is the L3/5 split (ie L5 for heroes, L3 for everything else– what you mostly see on our site).

NIXES
You can also nix THREE armies; meaning you can pick three armies you don’t want it to be. Point cost includes reasonable upgrades (ie we won’t inflate the point total by giving every piece of wargear possible).
.
REVERSE NIXES
You can pick three armies and the one we pick MUST be one of those.
.
You can also expand the army up to once at the same cost. Subsequent expansions are at the normal rate.
.
I’d be really excited to do anything with this special because I always have a lot of ideas cooking. Artists produce their best work when allowed to operate freely.
.
We accept almost any form of payment you can imagine. Don’t forget that we have a trade-in program (that can take the edge off!).
.
The normal refund options are not available for this. It’s non-refundable. That’s fair, I think, since we are making concession on price in exchange for artistic license.
.
Normal shipping rates apply. That’s $9 flat in US, $25 flat overseas. Overseas pays actual shipping if it’s over $50 (ie we absorb extra cost up to $50). This is rare but it does happen.
.
I will be reasonable. I think that this deal will produce good armies. No “four high elf special characters and two units of archers” or stuff like that. I have full good will in this matter. I really want to have free reign to make some dream armies.
.
War Machine and Hordes

Per 200 pts
Pick War Machine or Hordes then…

L 3/5 any army (we pick): $125
L 3/5 with one nix (you pick one army and it can’t be that one): $150

L 4/6 any army (we pick): $200
L 4/6 with one nix : $225

L 2/4 any army (we pick): $100
L 2/4 with one nix : $125

If your army is 1000 pts or more, save $50. This is old points. A reasonable conversion can be made for Mk2.

Testimonials

We’ve now done about twelve of these armies. I have taken pics of all done so far and those can be found in the New Stuff section of our website (use “find” function for keyword “pandora”). There has been a load of positive feedback.

Lunchlady Land

Spanish Fork is on a plateau, so the sunset is almost parallel with the land. For just a few minutes the sun beams in from the side and lights up all the trees.

This is going to be short. I was a burned out husk of a man. I really just did not want to be bothered. I’d like to just stay in bed for a day. But now I feel recharged.

I was up in the wee hours watching a few episodes of Ghost Whisperer, the odd program that both my wife and I like.

Then I slept in until 10am. I basically just frittered away the morning. And the afternoon.

My wife made sloppy joes for dinner. We went with the baby bundled up the stroller to deliver some relief society invitations.

Willow is doing well. She’s the calmest, most personable, amiable, even-centered person in the house. Sad when the baby is the model of maturity. She just loves to be along for the ride. She can demolish almost any kind of food with her two little chompers.

Galangal Soup

Pics: Rhino eaten up with bio-acid and swarming with roach-gaunts. See the big one here.

Yesterday morning G. (my four-year-old son) went missing. We were distraught. The whole neighborhood and the police were out looking for him. Turns out he went to a neighbor’s house, people we know well and are good friends with, and was playing in their play room. They weren’t home, he just went on in. When we came by looking for him (with the owner’s permission– this was one of the places we thought he would go) he hid behind the couch. It wasn’t until the police showed up (again, with permission) and announced “Police!” that he came out and showed himself.

I guess his little-boy brain was like, “It’s the fuzz! The jig is up!”

I was just shaking and crying with relief. It was terrible. And joyous to hold his sweet frame in my arms again!

Friday night I went out to Thai food with my darling lovely wife. Oh, she’s the love of my life. I just can’t get enough of her. What a good person. Married life can have a depth of warmth and comfortableness that I had never imagined.

If you live in the area I recommend Thai Drift in Orem. Very, very good food. And the best game shop in the tri-valley area (Blakfyre Games) is right next door.

Today I just hung out all morning, recovering from terrain fest and an insane Friday. I watched a new episode of the Mentalist. I do so like that show.

I did hit the studio in the afternoon, and stayed late to catch up. No tugs on the line, though. I was sad. No new project set up. I did get four new vids up, though.

Mentalist Rules

Ayup, I’m just sitting here. All caught up and ready to set up new projects.

The studio has never been more organized and professional. The level of talent is through the roof. It’s insane.

Yawn. Just waiting for your call or email.

In other news
Fateweavers second incarnation is done. The remaining models (two heralds on disc, two heralds on foot) are all ready to go. I plan on giving the whole thing a once-over over the weekend. And Julie brought in some prototype Fire Dragons for the Oceanic Eldar. They have pale blue armor. It’s outstanding. I will be painting up eighteen more over the weekend.

Skaven Update

If you follow the youtube channel you know we got in about 700 Skaven models of various kinds.

Now that I have the Skaven book I’ve taken several hours to look it over and updated the sheet. Some things are less expensive, and I included new entries.

We plan on doing conversions for various entries where there is no published model. Of particular note are the two new kinds of weapon teams: the doom-flayer and the plague mortar.

The Hell Pit Abomination is something that we are actively trying to come up with something for.

Here are details on various Skaven deals.

I have enough models on hand to make a Skaven army for the first person that takes me up on it.
